چکیده:

The efficiency of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) synthesis is determined in rat liver mitochondria based on a thermodynamic model showing that the process of oxidative phosphorylation is carried out with considerable efficiency in such tissues. Furthermore, ATP concentration is given in various tissues of different animals revealing the fact that ATP is not always produced with maximum efficiency in all types of mitochondria. The
generation of ATP is dependent on the function of the tissue and its physical activity. Rat liver mitochondria operate with high efficiency since their main function is energy storage.
