چکیده:

One approach to reduce the environmental pollution is application of waste material in industry Nano materials show unique physical and chemical properties that can lead to the development of more effective materials than ones which are currently available. In this research the mechanical properties ofconcrete incorporating Phoenix dactilifera leaf were investigated. The experiments include 81 samples of cubical and cylindrical concrete. The portions of Phoenix dactilifera leaf as cement replacement were 20 and 30 percent. Leaves of Phoenix dactilifera have been blended, grinded and finally resized to nano particles. The particle size distribution of these materials was determined with laser light scattering test. The results showed that, the concrete containing 3% nanomaterials of leaf of phoenix dactiliferahas proper performance for use as a filler materiel for expansion and shrinkage joints in concrete water conveyance canals
