چکیده:

The demand on the natural products has increased due to the concern on the health and to meet various personal preferences. Among the natural products, one of the most useful components is (+)-catechin. Little solubility experimental data are found in literature for this component. In order to select a proper solvent for high-purity separation and extraction processes, the solubility of (+)-catechin is estimated in various solvents (Acetonitrile, Ethanol, Ethyl acetate, Chloroform, Hexane, Acetone, Methanol). Solubility parameters and ideal solution assumptions are used to determine (+)-catechin mole fraction over a range of temperatures from 298K to normal boiling point of each solvent.
