چکیده:

An important requirement for the thermal design of the heat shield, which is subjected to extremely high heat loads during the atmospheric re-entry, is to have prior accurate information regarding the thermal properties of the materials utilized.
In this work we present the solution of the inverse problem of parameter estimation, used for the identification of the effective thermal diffusivity of resol type phenolic resin-asbestos cloth composite and its layered silicate nanocomposites. The experimental setup is an oxyacetylene torch according to ASTM E 285-80. Based on the results of this work the effective thermal diffusivity of resol type phenolic resin-asbestos cloth composite and kaolinite layered silicate nanocomposite (6 wt. % of clay) are approximately equal to 9.3*10-8 and 6.47*10-8 m2.s-1 , respectively
