When assessing the performance of concrete structures different types of calculations are generally used. This is also done when designing structures that can be exposed to a fire. The predictability of the calculations models is closely dependent on the material properties used as input data.
This paper presents the transient plane Source (TPS) method determining the thermal properties of concrete at high temperatures.
Thermal properties of concrete have been measure using TPS. The measured thermal properties have been compared to values to values presented in Eurocode 2 and the specific heat measured using Modulate Different Scanning Calorimeter (MDSC) the results of the comparison showed that the TPS method is very promising for the determination of thermal properties of concrete at room temperature well as temperatures up to 600 C.
