Based on the higher order theory, this paper presents an analytical solution for the uncoupled thermopiezoelastic analysis of simply supported piezoelectric bimorph beams subjected to electric field and thermal loading. The temperature distribution is assumed to vary linearly through the thickness of beam and the electromagnetic potential is assumed to be as piecewise linear across the each piezoelectric layer. Using the principle of virtual displacements, the governing equilibrium equations are established. The influences of shear parameter, piezoelectric thickness, and length-to-thickness ratio on the transverse displacement and normal stress distributions of beam are studied.
