The synthesis and characterization of a new optically active diamine (DA) is described. The in situ polymerization of DA and pyromellitic dianhydride led to the production of corresponding poly(amic acid) (PAA)which was mixed with Ti+4 solution and under went annealing process to obtain the novel polymer/titania nano hybrid films via an in situ hydrolysis of titania precursor with water derived from thermal imidization of PAA. FT-IRspectroscopy and TEM images confirmed the existence of well-dispersed titania nanoparticles in the polymer matrix.
