One of the most common processes for separating is evaporation because this process has advantages such as: simplicity, high efficiency, low cost and fairly well known process for engineers. Recently it is used in nuclear industry for reducing the volume of low level liquid radioactive waste. The use of this technology in this regard is relatively new and according to our information it is not accomplished in IRAN. In this study increasing of evaporation surface and reducing boundary layer causes enhance evaporation rate. In this case, the theoretical basis of this process and effective parameters for design of a lab-scale evaporator with 10kg/h capacity is evaluated. Calculation and experimental data show that actual evaporation rate is combined of molecular and bulk mass transfer also the circumstance parameter must be considered. In spite of different limitations, evaporation rate in lab-scale is acceptabale.so, scale-up for commercial is predictable.
