چکیده:

Vapor compression is a method for desalination of water. In this method vapors produced from saline water are compressed to a higher pressure and their temperature will increase due to the energy input, so vapors can be utilized as a heat source for evaporating the saline solution. In this research article we survey two methods of vapor compression which are mechanical vapor compression and thermal vapor compression. We also compare it to other desalination methods and consider economical aspects. It is very useful for small capacities due to low energy consumption.
