The hydrodynamic performance characteristics of a breakwater model with a quadrant front face supported on closely spaced piles du to random waves is studied in a wave flume. The reflection transmission and loss coefficients were evaluated from measurements and presented as a function of wave steepness and relative water depth. The effect of relative pile height on the above coefficients are discussed. The total force in the direction of wave propagation and in the vertical directions on the model are measured and presented as a function of wave steepness for different relative water depths. The details of the present experimental set up, procedure, analysis and results and discussion are reported in this paper.
