چکیده:

Concentric braces in braced frames are practical and economical choices to create lateral resistance for steel buildings but they are not usually ductile. Yielding damped braces have been proposed as one of new generations of ductile braces. According to past studies, Response modification Factor for a one degree of freedom frame with this brace is 8. In this paper, it is tried to investigate the seismic behavior of these braced, frames evaluating the effect of an increase in number of stories. For this purpose, first demandcapacity curve is determined by push over analysis and then Response modification Factor of these yielding damped braced frames is numerically investigated in UBC code buildingranges.
