چکیده:

Disadvantages of seismic behavior of common braces such as lack of ductility, buckling and energy dissipation and also unsymmetrical hysteresis performance in tension and compression induced researchers to suggest new generation of braces that are buckling restrained braces and yielding damped braces. The focus of this paper is on the seismic response of three and six story concentrically braced frames utilizing buckling-restrained braces. In this research it is tried to assess seismic behavior and failure causes of these braces through nonlinear push over analyses. Finally Response modification Factor of these braces obtained from this study according to NEHRP are compared by Reduction factor of similar systems in UBC code.
